discovered a rare gem of HK today.. Saikung - i will be back!

BWELL healthy cooking class

went for the healthy cooking class at HK Electric Home Management Center in Northpoint organised by BB. interestingly the experience tonight reminded me of my home econ lessons in BVSS..

we tried cooking Korean ginseng chicken. the girls (me included) were sligtly disturbed by the sight of this whole chicken with its head still attached. i had to chop mine off and even help AN with her chicken head! urgh!

a thought came to my mind when i was looking at the demo by the female instructor: this is the PERFECT retirement job for the mum! she can cook, likes to cook and i am sure she will get a lot of satisfaction from teaching others too!! i texted her the same night telling her she should try to get a job like that!

the final product taste (and looks) like 100% Cantonese style 文昌鸡 except with glutinous rice stuffed in it. haha.. i brought it home, cooked rice and shared it with LL!

clearly.. no food was wasted with our powers combined :)

i say i say

i finally got it off my chest.. but i really hope i was not just transferring contents from the "Things-I-Want-To-Say-But-Cannot-Say" book into the "Things-I-Should-Not-Say-But-Say-Already" book. only time can tell.

you know how in the army the General tells the Captain the meeting is at 1pm. the Captain tells the Lieutenant the meeting is for 1230pm. Lieutenant then tells his Sergeant the meeting is at 12pm. then Sergeant tell his Recruits to fall in at 1130am. so the Recruits start to prepare for the 1pm meeting at 11am!

ok now try replacing the word "army" with "office".

the 'better late than never' birthday party

i have never had a proper birthday party as far as i remember. perhaps only the 1 year old birthday party when i was too young to know anything and the mini 12 year old birthday 'party' where only 4 friends got invited (for some strange reason?!)

decided that perhaps it was time to have a REAL party and celebrate myself turning 30. never celebrated any of the milestones (16/18/21) as i was busy being a national athlete. sorry this party was 3 months late but hey, it is the 'better-late-than-never' birthday party remember?! the location was great, the view was awesome and the weather was more than anything i could ask for. above all, the cake kicked ass (all thanks to the sis)

my friends from all stages of my life were gathered at the same place and time - secondary school, tkd, poly, uni, BB.. they sang the song, i cut the cake and the drank the alcohol.

50 friends, one rooftop.. with one of the best city views as backdrop.

best of all - my family! i think the happiest person must be mum who kept getting praises on how young she looks heh..

this is a truly phenomenal experience for me! happy times.. MUST be remembered.

weekends never this blue

usually we celebrate Friday for it means last day of work and the impending start of a great weekend. but today, this Friday.. is one of the worse!! because it means end of my holiday and the impending start of all the sai gang coming my way. sigh. well, at least something to be looking forward to this weekend.

tomorrow is my very belated birthday party!! woohoo!! actually feeling really excited/nervous. almost feels like my wedding day for some reason! i even dreamt about it last night!! it is crazy i know! hope everything goes well!
