day 3 - shangrila tiger leaping gorge and tibetian dinner

on day 3 we joined a local tour to shangrila. it was just 340 Yuan for a 2D1N tour inclusive of food, hotel and guide. first stop was the tiger leaping gorge which involved walking up and down 10,000 steps (maybe not 10,000 but honestly it killed me)we saw corns and baked sweet potatoes and quickly ate them because we dont know what's the next edible thing we can get.. hahathere were some stalls selling souvenirs along the road and were pretty interesting even though we didnt buy any...hmm.. seriously, you wont want to take another look at where you are peeing into!!! urghhh~introducing Dawa Lamu our shangrila tour guide. she rock balls! super commando style! haha.. i like! when she says, wake up at 6am - she really MEANT it. she started banging on our hotel doors at like 6am SHARP. very disciplined!!wonderful trip so far... until we arrived at our hotel. as the hotel claims, there was a city-wide outage of electricity and water. very good!!! in good kiasu singaporean spirit, we went to buy many bottles of mineral water so that we can use them for washing up later. heh.. as they say, 钱能够解决的问题就不是问题!(if money can solve your problem then there is no problem)at night we were brought to this tibetian style 'family' dinner, albeit touristy but i think it's pretty fun. haven't been doing touristy stuffs like this for a long time!didn't quite understand the food which was in front of me, but the home-made qingke wine was really nice though. it tasted a little bit like korean shoju or a very very light and refreshing vodka. i would have wanted to have more but i was afraid i might not react too well to high altitudes..hmm.. can tell from my expression that i was a little.. confused on, 1) how to eat 2) what am i eating? 3) why am i eating this??! haha
